| For
infertility derived from absence or low quality of oocytes in certain
patients the best solution, if not the only one, is oocyte donation.
With this technique results obtained are 50-60% gestation per cycle.
It consists of the oocyte fecundation from the donor woman with semen
of the husband, and the following embryonic implantation into the uterine
of the beneficiary woman.
Donor woman might be a patient with a male infertility factor, who, on
the day of the puncture, has a high number of oocytes and decides to donate
them, or more often, a woman who, on her own initiative, decides to be
a donor. She has to go through several tests to ensure her capacity to
be a donor, that means tests for all kinds of sexually transmitted diseases
and a study of her general state of health which includes psychological
examination and hereditary diseases.
Ova donation is not rewarded, although donor is compensated economically
for suffered inconveniences, for time taken and for the journeys made.
This compensation is established independently in each clinic.
Every donor has to sign a document where she gives her consent to use
her ova in this technique, so as to assume inherent anonymity and to fulfil
the following requirements:
• Be of legal age (between 18-35)
• Neither suffer from nor be a carrier of sexually transmitted
diseases
• Neither suffer from nor be a carrier of hereditary transmitted
diseases
• Have a normal intelligence coefficient
Anonymity will also held on the part of the beneficiary couple.
