Sperm donor in Spain
If you are a man between 18 and 30 years, motivated to help others and you have a good state of health, you can be a sperm donor.
Men who want to be sperm donors must meet some requirements:
- Legal adult age
- Neither suffer from nor be a carrier of sexually transmitted diseases
- Neither suffer from nor be a carrier of hereditary transmitted diseases
- Have a normal intelligence coefficient
- Have a minimum spermatic quality
Selection of donors is done through the following steps:
- Personal interview with donor, where the process is explained
- Analysis of sperm collected in the Clinic
- Blood analysis
- Collection of a minimum of five samples, with three days abstinence
before each being obtained, the Clinic being the place where samples are taken - Freezing of sperm
- Six months afterwards: another blood analysis is made
- If all these tests are satisfactory, sperm can be used for assisted
reproductive techniques.
Donor must sign a document where he gives his consent to use his sperm for assisted reproduction, so as to assume inherent anonymity in the same.
Anonymity is also maintained by part of the receiving partner. Sperm donation is anonymous, and the Sperm donors do not have a right to know the identity of the child born.
According to the Spanish Law on Assisted Reproduction, a child born by these techniques may not know the identity of the sperm donor.
Sperm donation is not rewarded, although donor is compensated economically for suffered inconveniences.
